Bringing OCs to Life Through Music

Soufflé

Original Characters of any form, like mascots, fursonas, DnD Characters, FFXIV characters, and more are large parts of people’s identities and self discovery. Sometimes these created characters are only used for something like FFXIV Roleplay servers, and other times they are ways to express facets of themselves. Many people create backstories, lore, and even worlds for their original characters. Another way to create more depth for a character is by composing original music for that character. I take on this task through music commissions. By given character art refs, information, lore, and more; I create a music track to fit this character’s themes and aesthetic to bring them to life. In this panel I will describe the process of doing so and how it has impacted my commissioners.

He has been creating electronic music for about 10 years as a hobby. Recently he was able to create professionally for independent releases and through commissions. In these commissions, Soufflé is given information about a person’s original character and composes music to the commissioner’s liking.
